Equimec Paste for Horses

Equimec Paste is a potent broad-spectrum worm treatment for horses of all ages, including mares and stallions. It’s It comes in an oral paste formula that protects from a range of parasites including bots, hairworms, roundworms, pinworms, large mouth stomach worms, neck threadworms, intestinal threadworms, and lungworms. The low-dose composition interferes with the nerve and muscle functions of the parasites, causing paralysis and eliminating them.

Equimec Paste provides protection from Large Strongyles (adult and arterial larval stages) and Small Strongyles (benzimidazole-resistant bloodworms). Furthermore, it effectively controls skin lesions caused by Habronema, summer sores, and cutaneous onchocerciasis. It comes with a handy trigger applicator that makes administration simple and ensures accurate dosing.

Direction for use

• Administer the Equimec Paste orally
• Make sure that the horse’s mouth is clear of feed before administration
• Unlock the knurled ring by making a 1/4 turn and adjust it along the plunger shaft to the correct weight marking
• Make 1/4 turn to lock the knurled ring.
• Remove the plastic cap from the nozzle
• Insert the syringe into the horse's mouth and place it in the gap between the front and back teeth
• Deliver the paste to the back of the tongue by pressing the plunger completely
• Raise the horse’s head for a few seconds immediately after administration to ensure the entire dose is swallowed

Dosing:

• Administer Equimec at the recommended dose level of 200μg ivermectin/kg of body weight.
• The contents of one syringe treat one horse of 1320 lbs (600kg) weight.

Each weight marking at the syringe plunger delivers 1.07 g of paste which is enough to treat 220 lbs(100kg) weight.

Safety

• Intended for use in horses only
• Avoid contact with the eyes, skin, and clothing
• Should not be administered to horses less than 21 days before slaughter for human consumption
• Should not be given to any animal intended for human consumption
• Safe to use in mares at any stage of pregnancy
• In stallions, the treatment does not impact their fertility
• It is poisonous if swallowed. Seek immediate medical attention if swallowed
• Properly dispose of the used syringes by wrapping them in paper and placing them in the garbage
